About Our Geriatric Psychiatry Clinics
Our Geriatric Psychiatry Clinics work in partnership with our patients’ primary care and other specialist providers to offer the specialist support of geriatric psychiatrists who provide comprehensive geriatric mental health assessments and care planning recommendations and services, links to other specialist, home and community mental health services and programs, as well as ongoing follow-up, support, health education, and counselling as needed to enable healthy and active living.
Your Appointment at Our Geriatric Psychiatry Clinics
The Main Reception for our Geriatric Psychiatry Clinics is located in Room 12, on the Ground Floor of Mount Sinai Hospital’s Murray Street Building, 60 Murray St., Toronto, Ontario. Our Clinic Reception Office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mental Health visits to our Clinics are by appointment only.
Upon our patients’ first visit to Mount Sinai Hospital’s Murray Street Building, they will need to visit the Admitting/Patient Registration Office on the Main Floor of Mount Sinai Hospital at 600 University Ave., and present their OHIP health card to receive a Mount Sinai Hospital card. Patients will need this card to check in to their appointment and for any other future appointments and tests at Mount Sinai Hospital.
For their first appointment, patients are provided a 60-minute assessment, often involving a psychiatric trainee, and a geriatric psychiatrist. Follow-up appointments tend to be shorter.
