In 2010, Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH) became the first acute care academic health sciences centre in Canada to make geriatrics a core strategic priority. Sinai Health/UHN’s Healthy Ageing and Geriatrics Program supports older Canadians to live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives through various initiatives and educational programs such as our Older People’s Education and Navigation Strategy to Support Healthy Ageing (OPENS) initiative. We also have a 12 month learning collaborative under our ACE Strategy , whereby participating organizations receive coaching from our acclaimed faculty.
We offer many training opportunities for medical students and physicians in training to advance their skills and knowledge in geriatrics across the Sinai Health and University Health Network (UHN) hospitals. Through our training programs, we aim to provide advanced education to students, residents, fellows, and faculty by creating an environment where candidates can learn in clinical or research settings.
